“Free Speech” – Use Only As Directed

Free Speech, use only as directed.  Warning! – Side effects may include severe headaches or loss of consciousness from beatings, dizziness or nausea from tear gas, shortness of breath from being choked, and/or paralysis of limbs by restraints. If you experience any of these symptoms, do not discontinue use of your free speech, and contact a Constitutional attorney immediately…

Of course, beneath my attempt at humor here lies a much more serious issue. Over 7,700 people that were protesting against the illegal and immoral practices of the ‘too big to jail’ banks and Wall Street financiers have been arrested since September 17, 2011, while only a handful of those who were actually guilty of committing crimes have actually been arrested themselves.[1]

The banks have actually been caught in numerous schemes, from fixing rates with LIBOR, to price-fixing in the housing market[2], selling and trading worthless mortgage-backed derivatives, and illegally foreclosing on homeowners[3].

As Matt Taibbi said in Rolling Stone, “More recently, a major international investigation has been launched into the manipulation of Libor, the interbank lending index that is used to calculate global interest rates for products worth more than $3 trillion a year.

If and when that case is presented to the public at trial – there are several major civil suits in the works here in the States – we may yet find out that the world’s most powerful banks have, for years, been fixing the prices of ALMOST EVERY ADJUSTABLE-RATE VEHICLE ON EARTH, from mortgages and credit cards to interest-rate swaps and EVEN CURRENCIES.”[4](emphasis added)

They’ve also been caught price-fixing municipal bonds, bankrupting the town of Birmingham in the process[4], energy markets[5], and racketeering[6], and when ‘we the people’ got wise to it, and used our Constitutionally-protected rights to free speech and free assembly in protesting these crimes, then we found out the police and courts ARE willing to arrest and prosecute people.

They’re willing to arrest ‘we the people’, while the majority of the actual criminals, are still living lives of luxury, free from not only prosecution, but even the persecution that our Constitution allows us.

When Occupy Our Homes protested the fact that the Department of Justice was not doing it’s job and prosecuting criminal activity on the part of the banks, in addition to Capitol Police, DHS was actually called out, because, you know, people who want justice to be served by the cabinet department of the executive branch of our government that is actually given this task are a threat to our national security.[7] (read as: a threat to the security of those that own our nation)

Law enforcement agencies are suppressing our rights, at the behest of the corporatocracy, kleptocracy, plutocracy, or whatever you want to call it, it’s not a democratic republic anymore, it’s certainly not America anymore, it’s Amerika, and until we rise up in Unity, the home of the enslaved…
