Iran is a threat to the world, but is the threat posed by Iran even comparable to that of the threat posed by Israel?

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reminds us yet again why he ought be regarded as a war-mongering lunatic whose words shouldn’t be taken seriously by even the least-informed cretin, as he tells Russian President Putin that Iran’s rising influence in Syria is a threat to the entire world. Now I don’t know about you, but I don’t conflate a threat to Israel’s ability to violently dominate the Middle East region to that of a threat to the entire world. Iran genuinely poses a threat to Israel’s hegemonic aims in the region, there is no doubt about that – but to over hype that threat and try to incite fear into other countries to support Israeli policy against its competitors is deceitful and dishonest.

It doesn’t matter how many times you repeat a lie, a lie is still a lie. Benjamin Netanyahu has a long and documented history of falsifying and exaggerating threats posed by Iran. In the 1990’s, Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the U.S. Congress of Iran’s nuclear threat – claiming that they were 2-3 years away from getting a nuclear bomb. 20 years later and this madman still thinks people are foolish enough to take him seriously on the topic.

Setting aside the falsehood of it, don’t you think it’s a little rich that Netanyahu wants us to anticipate a futuristic Iranian threat while his country continues to bulldoze Palestinian homes in the West Bank and threatens Palestinian life every day? Perhaps if you’re concerned about threats posed to other countries you should cease hostilities against your neighboring country that you’re systematically conquering and annexing. Just food for thought.

In any case, I’m much more concerned about Israel dragging us into another pointless war to enrich Israeli interests at the expense of American interests – and the interests of everyone non-Israeli. Hopefully this blood-craved lunatic’s words don’t carry water with the Russian Government.
