What is going on in Gaza
Since the United States supports Israel to the tune of over $8 billion a year in aid, I feel the need to show you what you are supporting. There is a blockade in Gaza enforced by Israel limiting imports for the people in Gaza.  Israel will often close it’s borders so nothing can get in for weeks at a time.

I know there is a lot of talk about the underground tunnels used for transporting things into Gaza, well they are also used to move prohibited items around inside of Gaza. The tunnel that was bombed recently by Israel was in the middle of Gaza and no threat to the border. 7 Palestinians were killed and 12 others were wounded.
Just to give you an idea of how strict the import rules are in Gaza, here is a partial list of what is banned from entering Gaza. I ask you to think about living without all of what is on this list.

cardamom
cumin
coriander
ginger

While not all of these things may be relevant to you, I know at least some are. Can you imagine your life without them? What would you do to get them if they were illegal? Now, think about more than 5 million people not having any legal access to any of them. Musical instruments for children, paper and pens/pencils (how are they supposed to do school work?) What harm can come from animals like horses donkeys goats cattle or chicks? Pretty much every industry in Gaza is affected, farming, fishing, raising animals for food, even the olive farmers are restricted in what they can do and have. There are almost NO jobs in Gaza because of the ‘wars’ in 2012 and in 2014/2015 all factories are destroyed and most people still live in ‘tents’ made of rugs, tarps, and old clothing stitched together. Unemployment is over 40% and even if you do have a job (almost all are government jobs) there is no money to pay them for working. The UN estimates that Gaza will be uninhabitable by 2020, that’s 3 years from now.
